September 2013 Races

Attention Paddlers!  There is still lots of racing left in the season!

September 14th was the annual Lotus Poker Paddle. Poker is ONLY a sport when done in an outrigger! Race results are on the CORA Results page. Thanks to everyone that came out to race.

The Length of the Lake (held Sept. 21)… really, how hard can 100km be?  Well, according to one report:
Leg 1: Torrential rain, some wind
Leg 2: Heavy rain, strong headwind
Leg 3: Strong headwind
Leg 4: Headwind to Squally Point (aptly named), then freaking headwind
Leg 5:Headwind, then EPIC headwind (26km gusting to 43km), thunderstorm

Whew! Penticton is still busy with the Downwind Run on September 28th. The race course depends on the direction of the wind and shuttle options aren’t cast in stone and there are lots of details, so see Downwind Run
