Hi Shane
What event are you interested in? Mens/Womens/Mixed?
We only have spec boats but we could likely provide you with one dependng on the event.

Bellingham Bay Outrigger Paddlers are interested in sending some crews, but there are some logistical challenges with Ferries.

Can you provide me with some details of race day?

Specifically what time are the races?

How long of a drive is it from Sydney and if crews took a ferry from Tsawwassen how long would it take to get to Victoria?

Just trying to figure out if on race day people could catch a ferry or if they would have to take an evening ferrry on Friday.

This is Erik, the race director for the Brotchie Reach race. We can certainly put you on the list for a canoe — as can Ocean River (through Cindy, who has already written to you). You can contact me to formalize a canoe request at: [email protected].

Paddles up,

Hi Colin:
a) you would have to catch the 7:00 ferry from Tsawwassen, landing in Sidney around 8:40ish. You will get downtown shortly after 9:00.
b) If you are bringing canoes, this is a bit more problematic because there is little room down there for loading/unloading/rigging. See if you can borrow. Canoes are not automatic with registration, you will need to secure your own.
c) I’m sure FGPC will post the start times shortly. They are pretty prompt with their info, so check out their website first.

I’m with ORPC. If you can tell me your crew types (men, women, mixed, etc), then I might be able to help you our with canoes, but they will all be Spec.
