Title:     Surfing Question and Paddle Technique (OC-1)

click for bigger image I have a question about surfing opportunities and paddling technique:

I'm looking for good places around BC to take your outrigger canoe to
get some surfing in. I know weather has a lot to do with it, but are
there places where consistent surfable conditions exist? We go out in
the Okanagan when the wind is up, and there are waves, but they're too
close together to surf well. If it could be done safely without an
escort boat that would be great.

My second question is this. In my OC-1, do I still need to switch
paddling sides on a regular basis (every 12 - 15 strokes)? Or could I
paddle as long as I feel comfortable on one side before switching over.

Just thought I'd get some discussin' going in our discussion forum.
