Vernon Freshwater Challenge is back on!
click to enlarge Hi Everyone !! Hope your summer is off to a good start and you are all training hard for the upcoming races !!

The VERNON RACING CANOE CLUB, in sunny Vernon BC, is hosting our annual FRESHWATER CHALLENGE CHANGE RACE ON AUGUST 2nd and 3rd. We will be having a small boat race on the afternoon of the 2nd -- Saturday and the 9-person change races on Sunday the 3rd.

We have a long (44 km) race along with a short course (24km) that can be a change or ironed. We have men's, mixed, ladies, master's etc. Any combination will work !

The small boat race is approximately 10 km and any form of boat is acceptable (self propelled that is !)

We will be hosting a post-race party on Sunday at a private home on the lake -- it has a dock, beach, grass, barbque, firepit, jukebox, bar etc. Our plan is for a range of salads and meat on the barbque with bevies of various kinds available for purchase.

We will be determining the cost for the race in the very near future. For those who have been here before, costs will likely be similar to past as cost of gas has increased substantially for our escort boats.

We will be getting registration forms, waivers etc up on our website very soon too. Our website is vrccoutrigger.com Keep your eye on it !
But&.if you are even thinking about coming to our race&..please let me know as we have to arrange the appropriate amount of escort boats and plan for the catering, bar etc.

You can respond to me at chrislc@shaw.ca and my phone is 250-542-8488.

VRCC members hope to see you here on August Long Weekend !!
