Lotus IceBreaker V-12
|
Get out your winter paddling gear and your swimwear for the 2008 Lotus Ice Breaker V-12 Double-Hull Race! Teams of twelve paddlers, in double-hulled outriggers, will race in scenic (but icy) Indian Arm. Race length is 6 km (may be changed on race day, depending on the weather conditions). Soak away all apres race tensions in the steaming hot tub or enjoy hot food available at the Lotus Junior team's concession.
Date: Saturday, January 19, 2008
Schedule: Registration opens at 9:00 am; first heat is at 10:00 am with subsequent heats every 45 minutes. Place prizes will be awarded after each heat.
Pre-Registration: Teams who preregister by January 12, 2008 will be able to request a specific heat time slot on a first come, first served basis. The number of entries will be limited. Pre-registration is strongly recommended as all heats filled up last year - don't be disappointed.
Race Fees: Adults - $120 per team (minimum 6 females per team); Juniors - $5 per paddler/$60 per team (minimum 6 females per team).
All paddlers must pay CORA fees. Annual CORA membership will be available on race day ($20 for adults, $10 for juniors) or Day fee of $10.
Equipment: Boats will be supplied. PFDs are mandatory and must be worn properly by all paddlers - PFDs are available. There are a limited number of aluminum paddles available please bring your own paddle.
