2006 CORA Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The 2006 CORA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on the weekend of November 18 & 19 at the Jericho Sailing Center located at 1300 Discovery Street, Vancouver BC. For directions to this location (if you haven't already been there) please check the Jericho OCC website.
The CORA AGM weekend consists of two seperate meetings. On Saturday, November 18 @ 10:00AM, representatives from each member club will come together to discuss specific issues having to do with CORA, races, schedules, canoes, safety and other issues. At this meeting, the delegates will review race date applications for the 2007 racing season and put together a tentative schedule. At the close of this meeting, the delegates will choose (or not choose) to assemble their thoughts and discussions into proposals or by-law changes to be brought before the AGM the following day. An agenda for this Technical Meeting is currently being formed, and if you have any items you wish to see on this agenda, please forward them to us via email to info@canadianoutrigger.com.
Clubs are reminded that they should submit their applications for CORA sanctioning of races for the 2007 racing season ASAP for consideration at this meeting. Forms are available in the Resources section of this web site.
The CORA AGM will take place on Sunday, November 19 @ 10:00AM. This meeting is open to all registered CORA members. Each CORA member is entitled to attend, initiate and/or participate in discussions of various topics on the agenda. Proposals, initiatives and by-law changes/amendments will be presented and each member is entitled to one vote.
All Executive and Board positions will be vacated and an election of a new CORA Executive and Board for 2006. All registered CORA members are eligible to hold Executive or Board positions, and members are encouraged to get involved in CORA by standing for a position. If you're interested in volunteering for CORA or in nominating a CORA member for one of the board positions, let us know by email to info@canadianoutrigger.com.
Those CORA members who are unable to attend the CORA AGM are entitled to proxy their vote to another CORA member. Proxy forms are availalbe in the CORA Resources section of this website. The deadline for submitting proxy voting is November 11, 2006 at midnight. The Proxy form can be submitted by email or regular mail.
