The first proposal to host World Sprints in Canada, was made to the IVF by Alan Carlsson and Dave DeRizzo in New Zealand 2005. Seven years later, it is finally Canada’s time to shine!
250 Canadian paddlers are on their way to Calgary to compete in one of the largest attended World Sprints to date. The venue at Calgary Canoe club and the World Sprint Organizing committee are ready to host 1200 paddlers in this 5 day event.
We hope the paddling community across Canada can watch our progress with the following websites, as well as through posts on the 2012 World Sprint Facebook site!
