WHEN: August 15- OC6 Iron Championship August 16 - CORA Cup Small Boat Race
LOCATION: Tulista Park, Sidney, BC
RACE COURSE: The course is an on-water start off Tulista Park. The course is tentatively set to leave the beach off Tulista Park, head south along the shoreline of James Island, around the Shoals just NW of Darcy Island and back along the other side of James into Tulista. The direction of travel will be dictated by the current and wind conditions presented on the day of the race. Course length is approximately 22 km.
The short course will leave the beach at Tulista, around the marker off the west shore of Sidney Island, to the north marker off James and back into Tulista. This triangle is approximately 12 kilometers.
Also, ORPC reserves the right to alter a course or cancel this race due to unsafe paddling/weather conditions at any point before and during the race event. We do have alternative courses, but the decision will be made on race day.

11:30am - OC-6 Women's Long Course
2:00pm - OC-6 Men's and Mixed Long Course
Steerers’ meeting 30 minutes before each race.
REGISTRATION:
$180/team; Juniors $60/team
CATEGORIES:
Short Course:
Junior (under 19)
Novice (one class no age); NOTE: novice class is ONLY the short course. Novice = all paddlers less than 1 year of racing.
Long Course
Open women or open men = >19
Master women or master men = 35+
Senior master women or senior master men = 45+
Mixed = As above age classes
A minimum of three teams must be registered in an age class.
AWARDS AND SOCIAL: In the Park after the last boat is in and refreshed.
EQUIPMENT:
Teams to supply own boats and paddling equipment.
All boats must have a minimum of six PFD’s, a spray deck and two bailing buckets. Boats will be randomly checked and those not complying will be disqualified.
ORPC may have some boats available for certain heats. Please contact deadfish@shaw.ca.
Other clubs may also be able to assist, please put a notice onto the CORA message board.
